Wolf Died at His Home in Motley Shortly After Five Last FridayTO BE BURIED BY THE ELKSHas Been a Resident of Motley For Twenty-Four Years - Funeral SundayWilliam Wallace Wolf, one of the pioneer residents of Motley died at hishome in that town Friday - after an illness of nearly a year. Mr. Wolfsuffered from a complication of troubles and has been at St. Joseph\'sHospital for treatment three times during his illness. Lung and kidneytrouble were the culminating causes of his death.Mr. Wolf was a member of the Brainerd Lodge of Elks, and it was his wishthat the services at the funeral be conducted by that order. They willgo up in a body Sunday noon and the funeral will be held in thatafternoon. The deceased was also a member of the Motley Odd Fellow lodgeand that organization will attend the funeral in a body. The burial willbe at Motley.W.W. Wolf was born in Black Brook, Clinton County, NY, August 19, 1838.He enlisted in the 16th New York Volunteers in Schuyler Falls, NY, forthe Civil War. He went home to vote at the presidential election in 1864and on election day was married to Ida Ives, after which he returned tothe Army, and served to the close of the war. His wife died four yearsago. To them eight children were born, seven of whom survive. They areMrs. Annette Fitzgerald, of Staples, George W. Wolf, of Motley, Mrs.Mary Torgerson, Motley, Joseph Wolf, of Staples, Albert Wolf, of Motley,and Mrs. Lillie Hurs, of Motley. Ten grandchildren are also left tomourn him.Mr. and Mrs. Wolf came to Minnesota 33 years ago, settling in ToddCounty where they lived nine years.
